Letter From Pastor Josh

Church Family, I have talked during the service and prayer meetings as well as individually with many of you about our church planting work. This next Sunday April 20th will be our last Lord's Day worship with you, our dear brothers and sisters in Christ at GFBC (as members at least...we do plan on visiting and keeping up!). April 27th I will be preaching at West Oaks Baptist Church and then on May 4th we will have an official joining of our church-plant group to that body as they reconstitute and we join together under a new Covenant ...

GfBC Begins the Heidelberg Catechism

Each Sunday, GfBC quotes a small portion of a catechism or creed during the service.  This month, we will begin walking through the Heidelberg Catechism. The following is a short history of this catechism: I. History. Soon after the introduction of Protestantism into the Palatinate in 1546, the controversy between Lutherans and Calvinists broke out, and for years, especially under the elector Otto Heinrich (1556-59), it raged with great violence in Heidelberg. Frederick III, who came into power in 1559, adopted the Calvinistic view on the Lord's Supper, and favored that side with all his princely power. He reorganized ...

GfBC Owns Land!

After several years of searching, we are pleased to announce that on Thursday, January 23rd, 2014 papers for the new property located in Tomball, TX were signed.  This process has taken over two years and has included many different places in which we were hopeful about building. The location of this property is very exciting as it will be close to both the Grand Parkway (scheduled completion in late 2015) and the proposed new Tomball Medical Parkway, giving quick access to anyone in the Houston Metro area.  The close proximty to Hwy 249 and the short distance from GfBC's ...

GfBC Location Change

Once a year Grace Family Baptist Church relocates to accomadate the congregation of the Seventh Day Adventist Church where we meet.  We generally try and make that weekend coincide with the Semper Reformanda conference.  However, this year we were unable to make those dates match. This Sunday—October 27, 2013—GfBC will meet at Hassler Elementary School located at 9325 Lochlea Ridge Dr, Spring, TX 77379.  Because of this location change, our schedule will also be adjusted.  There will be no 1689 or Sunday School classes.  We will also NOT have our fellowship meal following the service.  Our Worship service ...

GFBC Deacon Nomination

Once again we are coming up to our semi-annual meeting (Oct 26, 2011).  We are asking our members to submit deacon nominations for this coming meeting.  At the bottom of this page, you will find a nomination form.  If you know someone whom you believe is qualified, talk with them and let them know you would like to nominate them for deacon.  After discussing this with them, fill out the enclosed form and return it to the one of our elders.  We will be presenting any nominations that we have on Sunday the 9th of October to give the church ...

GfBC Releases New Website

This weekend, Grace Family Baptist Church is releasing a new version of the website.   For several years, the need for a new website has been something that was desired by the church.  But over the last few months enough things fell into place that the church was able to make it happen.   As our society spends more time on the web and as the influence of GFBC has grown, having a better organized and user friendly website to disseminate information became a much higher priority. Research was begun in April and GFBC contracted with FiveQ Communications to scrap the website ...
